MEET TIM BURKE

Tim was born in Marietta, GA, to Dennis and Alice Burke. He was raised in Orlando, Florida with his older sister, Bridget. Tim's talent and passion for sports was apparent at a young age. After graduating from Lake Brantley High School in 2005, he pursued collegiate baseball.

At the University of Miami, Tim was a baseball pitcher. He attended the ACC Baseball Championship and College World Series in 2008. In 2009, he graduated with a bachelor degree in business. Shortly after graduating college, Tim strongly focused his athletic abilities on golf and honed his strength and talent towards Long Drive.

Tim competed in his first Long Drive competition in 2009. Working his way through local and regional qualifiers, he earned a spot at the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship his first year. Successively, he joined the Long Drive Tour and competed at tour events with the support of Krank Golf.

In 2010, Tim relocated from Florida to Washington, D.C. While working full-time as a wholesaler for Steben & Company, he continued to participate in the Long Drive Tour. Sponsored by Blue Mash Golf Club and TransPerfect, Tim was able to compete in Long Drive Competitions throughout the year. In 2011, Tim gained his first major success at the LDA Mile High Shootout when he placed third overall. In 2012, he placed third at the LDA Tennessee Shootout and was also named LDA Tour Champion. He was runner-up at the 2012 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship.

In early 2013, Tim accepted a wholesaler job at CNL Securities and returned to his home state. He looked forward to being able to golf all year round by practicing and playing out of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando. His Long Drive accomplishments continued, as he placed 2nd in the Masters of Long Drive and 3rd in the South Carolina Shootout. He also appeared at the 2013 PGA Show and was featured on the Golf Channel. With focus, passion, and hard work, Tim was crowned the 2013 RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion with a record winning drive of 427 yards. Now, Tim is spending his full attention and time on defending his RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion title.

When Tim is not golfing, he enjoys playing basketball, boating, and spending time with his wife, Ashley, and his son, Kelly.
